About the Author

The author was born in Thurso on the north coast of Scotland, spent his early years in Wick and was moved to Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow, at age 14. At age 21 he dropped out of university, at a time when buses were part of the fabric of a city. They were moving communities, busy, full of chatter, noisy and often a challenge to drive. He became a bus driver which he did for a number of years, then became a full time singer/guitarist for 10 years or so before returning to bus driving. After a few more years he returned to university and became a lawyer. He married a girl from Northern Ireland, has a daughter and a son, and is today a practising solicitor in Northern Ireland. He still retains his bus driving licence and drives as a spare driver for a Northern Ireland company as well as driving vintage buses for the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust.
